It only goes to show tho that raw talent isn't given of formal education, but formal education is another necessary perspective to fully appreciate it. Anyone from the streets appreciates nas for his music and lyrics because of how it may relate to them, but a limited perspective can only account for so much. Nas just trying to sound cool was unintentionally using poetry on a level that no average street thug would appreciate. Hell he himself doesn't even appreciate it fully. Then again, neither do the majority of other great rappers/poets.
